Sarawak’s Sustainability Vision 2030 emphasizes achieving economic prosperity, social inclusivity, and environmental sustainability by leveraging data and innovation. The vision sets ambitious goals, especially in the energy sector, focusing on renewable energy and utilities as key enablers to create a sustainable, green economy for Sarawak.

Sarawak’s Sustainability Vision 2030

The sustainability framework under Vision 2030 is designed to promote economic growth while also protecting the environment. This plan aims to help the economy expand by creating jobs and increasing wealth, but it prioritizes minimizing harm to the environment. In other words, the goal is to achieve economic development without causing pollution or damaging natural resources.

Strategy

Sarawak is expanding its energy mix by enhancing hydropower infrastructure, integrating solar power projects (e.g., the Batang Ai Floating Solar Farm), and incorporating battery storage systems

Leveraging partnerships with regional states (e.g., Kalimantan) and focusing on green technologies such as hydrogen fuel and sustainable aviation fuel, Sarawak is working towards a carbon-neutral future

Investments in the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) will boost infrastructure capacity, enabling power exports and improving local energy supply security

  • Incentivise first 500 domestic customers with solar photovoltaics installation

  • 3 in 1 multi-fuel charging stations hydrogen, electric and conventional fuel
