Aerospace

MITI has proposed making Sarawak Borneo’s aerospace hub, capitalizing on its strategic location, skilled talent, and green energy focus. The plan includes building a new airport, expanding maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, and advancing the green aerospace industry, leveraging Sarawak’s renewable energy resources.

Sarawak as Borneo's Emerging Aerospace Hub

The aerospace industry in Sarawak is set to grow significantly, driven by MITI’s proposal to position the state as a key player in the region. This initiative will enhance Sarawak’s role in aerospace manufacturing, MRO services, and renewable energy-powered aviation, with a strategic location close to key markets like Indonesia, Korea, Japan, and Australia.
